Report Inappropriate Comments

This is the most one sided journalistic piece that I have ever read. Mr. Schor gets an 8 paragraph monologue soliloquy and I get one sentence that reads as if I am some deadbeat tax evader. This is clearly misleading and I want to clear the facts up 100%. This matter is resolved now but I'm angered that they put my business out there and didnt give me equal space to share my side of the story.

In short, I worked for a Fortune 50 Company who stopped taking city taxes out of my check. I never moved. I never changed companies. I never requested the stoppage. I lived in Lansing. I worked in Lansing. Both addresses say "Lansing" on mail. However, THE BUSINESS GETS SOME TAX LOOPHOLE TO STOP TAKING THE MONEY OUT OF MY CHECK BECAUSE I WORKED IN WHAT IS TECHNICALLY LANSING TOWNSHIP. So they should put big business in jail or go after them. I never received any letters about the taxes until they said i had a warrant if i didnt call them. I called them. I paid when I could when I was employed. I never wanted them to stop taking money out of my check.

I reached out to City Pulse for a year and they never allowed me a venue to furnish a rebuttal to Mr. Schor and Mr. Heyward which basically was a one sided assault on my character. I didnt knowingly not pay my taxes. So I shouldnt have to go to jail because Lansing makes deals with certain big companies to find loopholes to make workers have to pay city taxes out of their pocket in one time lump sums on demand. How is that fair? Do you really think I was trying to screw the city out of $5 per week? How dumb is that? It was so small that I didnt know the change happened until after I left the company and I recieved a warrant notification.

I resolved the matter with The City Attorney and it is resolved but you shouldnt be locking up hard working citizens who want to pay their taxes straight out their check. You shouldnt be semantically defending some giant company's right to abruptly stop the withholding; "well you have a warrant because they could stop withholding because you technically work in Lansing Township and we dont want to piss off Big Company X". Thats what happened to me and I had to spend 2 hours in a cell with drunks and criminals because Lansing empowers big business to screw their employees.
