Ellison Brewery and Spirits announces Friday opening

Posted

WEDNESDAY, Sept. 30 — Ellison Brewery and Spirits is on tap to join Greater Lansing’s growing beer scene this week, announcing a Friday opening on social media this morning.

Posts on the brewery’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts announced that the pub will open to the public 2 p.m. Friday. The brewery’s 13 beer taps will be ready for the opening, and the beer list includes such intriguing beer names as Big Bend Banana Stout, Watermelon Hefeweizen and Tiramisu Chocolate Stout. The bar also features two wines taps and a three-handle “beer engine” for serving beers from a traditional cask system. The full beer list is available on the brewery’s Facebook page.

The 5,500-square-foot brewpub and production facility is located in Meridian Township, tucked behind the East Lansing Food Co-op.

“The popularity of craft beer is not going away anytime soon,” Elliott told City Pulse in February. “We’re not starting this to be part of some trend. Our approach to beer, wine and spirits will be unlike anything else being done in Michigan.”
