Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this sunny Monday.

Latino culture is celebrated this week with a Dia de los Muertes, or Day of the Dead, art exhibit. The Michigan Alliance for Latino Education and Culture is hosting "Dearly Departed — Queridos Difuntos," a show of various ofrendas, altars created honor the souls of the deceased.

13 local artists and Latino families have created altars for the event, which opened yesterday and closes after tomorrow. The altars are decorated with items related to the deceased person they honor, as well as food and drink.
