Lemata, a local nonprofit whose name stands for “Leaving Everlasting Memories As Time Advances,” hosts its sixth annual “Celebrating Survival” fashion show Sunday. The show, designed to honor those who are fighting cancer, features cancer survivors as models. The event also features live entertainment and food, as well as door prizes and raffles. The night kicks off with a social hour from 4 to 5 p.m., with the show immediately following. Fifteen years later, Lansing looks back on the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. In remembrance of those who lost their lives that day, Lansing’s Office of Emergency Management holds a procession in Downtown Lansing Sunday. EMTs, uniformed officers and other first responders walk along the 100 Block of East Michigan Avenue to Remembrance Plaza at Wentworth Park.
