Every year, Juneteenth is celebrated across the country to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. This year’s 23rd annual Lansing Juneteenth Celebration offers a variety of activities and spanning several locations. The festivities begin Thursday with a kickoff event in the lobby of City Hall. The next day offers the Freedom Festival at St. Joseph Park in Lansing. The celebration wraps Saturday with the African American parade and a second day of the Freedom Festival.
