What's Up in Lansing: Welcome Kindergarten

Posted

August is drawing to a close and the start of September draws nearer. This means two things: sad kids and happy parents. School is starting, but that doesn’t mean that your children have to be sad, particularly if this is their first time away from home for long. That’s why the East Lansing Public Library is hosting its “Welcome, Kindergarten” event.

Here, parents and caregivers will be able to join their kids as they learn about the world and get a head start on that brand-new school year.

“Stories, songs and rhymes will be shared by East Lansing kindergarten teachers. An art project and a fun "Countdown to Kindergarten" calendar will be sent home with each child,” says the ELPL website.

Parents of incoming children are encouraged to register for this event ahead of time.
