What's Up in Lansing: 20 Years of Harry Potter

Posted

Monday, June 26 marked the 20-year mark for the release of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” the first of the multi-book series. Since being published, the book has started what Bloomsbury Publishing calls a “global phenomenon.”

“It has sold over 450 million copies worldwide in 79 languages, inspired a major movie franchise, a spellbinding theatre production and captivated reader of all ages for 20 years,” according to Bloomsbury’s website.

But if you think you’ve missed the deadline to do something in honor the world’s favorite wizard, you’re wrong, the East Lansing Public Library has got you covered.
