SEPT. 9 >>> FLEDGE FEST

Music, art, technology, entrepreneurship and skateboarding. It's not often that these five topics merge, but at Fledge Fest, it's a necessity. Sponsored by eight local brands, it'll be the second year for this fesitival, but the first time it'll hit Lansing's streets. In 2016, the festival was in two spots in Grand Ledge, but this year it'll be right on the edge of REO Town, held in a warehouse. The event will have three stages of live music, featuring a variety of local favorites like the Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle, the Devil's Cut and more. The skateboarding comes in with the indoor skatepark and skateboarding competition to be held along with the musical acts. The event will also host an entrepreneurship event with its business pitch competition. Local food vendors will also be there. Fledge Fest 735, Hazel St., Lansing. fledgefest.com.

SEPT. 7 >>> CONCERTS IN THE COURTYARD: UKULELE NIGHT

The Concerts in the Courtyard series wraps up another season as the Fabulous Heftones and the Ukulele Kings do a dual performance at the Old Town General Store. Brian Hefferan and Lynn Hershberger make up the Heftones. The group specializes in '20s-era music but plays modern tunes as well. The Ukulele Kings comprises Ben Hassenger, Patrick Malloy and Steve Szilagyi. The trio is now on tour supporting the release of its recent "Three Cool Cats" CD. The audience is invited to bring ukuleles. Concerts in the Courtyard: Ukulele Night with The Fabulous Heftones and The Ukulele Kings, 7:30 p.m. $15/$9 Students.
