Eleven artists featured in new gallery

LookOut! Gallery, part of Michigan State University’s Residential College in Arts and Humanities, has a new exhibit, “The Local Scene.”

The idea is to highlight Lansing photographers, painters, illustrators, sculptors — you name it — all of which were handpicked by RCAH’s faculty.

The result is a conglomeration of works by 11 Lansing artists, each of which look quite stunning in the well-lit, hardwood floor mini-gallery on the second of floor of MSU’s Snyder-Philips Hall.

“They’re very diverse, ranging from recent graduates of MSU, RCAH in fact, to folk who are retired after a career of working and making art,” said Carolyn Loeb, LookOut!’s curator in residence. “They do very different kinds of things.”

“The Local Scene” features 11 artists:

Eric Alstrom Robert Baecker

Kate Cosgrove Joe Gohl Brandon Hankins Curt LaCross

Tim Lane Kimberly Lavon

Chance Liscomb Matthew Dae Smith Reuben Kenyatta
