How many more photos do we have to see of the Capitol, or the Otto C. Eckert Municipal Power Plant? In this competition, Lansing’s under appreciated photogenic self can shine.
According to the 2018 Lansing photo competition website, the contest is “meant to celebrate all that is unique, undiscovered, and beautiful in each of the four wards in Lansing.”
With voting at four different community centers throughout the season, the site said, “Winning photos will be featured on the newly redesigned Lansing Neighborhoods website and kept on display at the Cedar Street Art Collective through the end of the year.”
Winners will also receive gift cards, according to the site. The runner ups will remain on display community centers.
This will be the second round in the competition.
Submitting the photos in early August, remaining contestants survived a Facebook “like” competition held on the city’s Facebook. Only 10 photos remain in the traveling art gallery throughout the community centers.
The three photos determined by popular vote will be selected for accolades in a ceremony with Mayor Andy Schor.
