FRIDAY, Nov. 30 — It’s cold out there, and some local folks could use some help bundling up.

Lansing Mayor Andy Schor today announced a coat drive to help provide new and gently used winter coats, hats and gloves to children and adults that need them throughout the city. Collection starts tomorrow and runs through Dec. 10. Time to start digging through the closet.

Drop-off locations include:

Fire Station No. 1 at 210 E. Shiawassee

Fire Station No. 2 at 2114 N. Grand River

Fire Station No. 4 at 1435 E. Miller Rd.

Fire Station No. 6 at 5135 Pleasant Grove

Fire Station No. 8 at 815 N. Marshall

Fire Station No. 9 at 520 Glendale

Capital Area Housing Partnership (CAHP) at 600 W. Maple St.

Fire stations will have a labeled, green recycling bin for donations every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. CAHP will have a labeled box for drop-offs on site, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The drive is the latest coordinated effort from the Serve Lansing Emergency Preparedness initiative.
