FRIDAY, Jan. 11 — Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant, an Old Town staple, received the Lansing Economic Development Corporation’s initial approval to plant new roots in REO Town at the former Standard Oil “Red Crown” station on 1102 S. Washington Ave.

“Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant has delicious food and I am thrilled that they are expanding here in Lansing,” Mayor Andy Schor said in today’s press release. “REO Town is thriving with new businesses and the addition of Pablo’s will boost the area even more.”

According to a press release, the restaurant plans to have a seating capacity of 120, including 20 indoor tables and 10 patio tables during the summer. The patio will be fenced in and used as an outdoor gathering space.

“The REO Town restaurant will be focused on fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine, made from scratch daily,” owner of Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant Pablo Maldonado said. “We plan to replicate the original food concept developed in Old Town, along with several major improvements at the REO Town location.”

Maldonado said opening day will be on Cinco de Mayo.

The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily, Monday through Sunday. Its Old Town location opened in 2005.
