Something odd in the Aud as the campus turns creepy

Posted

By day, Michigan State University’s only haunted house blends in rather well among the other campus buildings.

Many who have walked the halls of MSU’s Auditorium have heard faint whispers when no one is there, or have been shocked by blood-curdling screams coming from seemingly empty rooms.

MSU theater students and staff have known for years the Aud, is haunted. Now, they’ll share their secret with the public in "The Haunted Aud."

Guests who walk through the Aud and Fairchild Theatre will realize each section of the building has a different creepy theme.

“All different sections of the Aud have been turned into a haunting," said Mikayla Bouchard, a senior theater major.

"Everything from a haunted costume shop to make-up design, and an entire show gone wrong.”

The Haunted Aud debuted last Halloween and saw over 600 visitors in two days. This year, the event has been extended to four days: Thursday through Halloween.

Tickets are available at the door for $10; proceeds go toward assisting student initiatives in the Theatre Department, such as the senior BFA showcase, a chance for senior theater majors to show off their skills for agents in New York.
