We can implement guidlinenes until we're blue in the face - yet it can't all be left up to the worker's and the corporations - unless the customer's make an effort as well - unless we all make an effort - it will not work - I am working as a cashier - ( with out tables in front of the registers ) and people just will not comply with the social distancing - I politely ask the customer to take a step back while ringing them up- yes, some do graciously comply - but some out right refuse- some even get mad , and most - most just can't do it - they just can't wait two seconds for me to finish ringing them up, (so I can then take a step back), before they charge in to get their number in the pin pad or plop their bags up on the counter . While their children are leaning up on the counters. Customer's will try to put money in my hands- looking confused when I ask them to just set it on the counter. I am so baffled - it is such a simple thing - to just at least make an effort to keep a little distance. We are all in this together - and I can't do it alone. So please give your cashier some space - Social distancing applys to everyone, not everyone BUT your cashier .
