1730 S. Cedar St., Lansing
Lansing
The structure at the intersection of Cedar and Norman street is a small, two-story multifamily apartment building on Lansing’s south side in danger of foreclosure. It is an LLC owned by Cabus Dewey, per the state’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The taxes past due are $8,144.73 for 2022 and $8,923.33 for 2023.Those are in addition to $6,702.98 for 2024.
“1730 S Cedar is in danger,” said Ingham County Treasurer Alan Fox. “The deadline for payments to avoid foreclosure is Monday, March 31, and it is still at risk. Because of the imminence of that deadline, things could change in a matter of days.”
According to trulia.com, the dwelling was built in 1908 and last sold for $50,000 in 2018. It has five studio apartments totaling 2,478 square feet.
Dewey, a real estate agent with EXIT Realty Home Partners, said there were plans to renovate the property, but “the holdup was getting a loan.” He declined to elaborate. Dewey also owns a house at 1316 W Lenawee St that is also at risk of foreclosure.
