819 Abbot Road, East Lansing
In anticipation of the 2026 Olympic Games, this year’s East Lansing Winter Fest, hosted by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts, will have a winter Olympics theme. Kids can compete in games and other activities for the chance to win a gold medal, provided by the city’s before- and after-school childcare program. Additional activities include face painting, craft stations, photos with “Frozen” characters, live ice sculpting, outdoor firepits for s’mores, bounce houses, live music by the School of Rock East Lansing House Band and soul/funk group Tony Thompson & Friends, a ventriloquist variety show and screenings of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Popcorn, hot chocolate and hot cider will be provided, with more substantial eats available at International Soul and VEG-N food trucks. A farmers and craft market will run concurrently on the first floor of the community center. For more information, visit cityofeastlansing.com/Winterfest.
