11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6
Courthouse Square Museum
100 W. Lawrence Ave., Charlotte
Scream Queen Productions and Charlotte’s Courthouse Square Association are once again teaming up to present A Festival of Oddities, offering two full days of frightening entertainment at the historic and allegedly haunted Courthouse Square Museum.
More than 100 artists and makers will gather on the spooky grounds, along with a variety of food trucks. The Living Library will give attendees the chance to meet and talk with their favorite eerie writers. This year’s lineup includes Allie Seibert, Exie Smith, Jenn Carpenter and Michael Delaware, to name a few.
Inside the museum, for a $5 fee, attendees can explore a collection of oddities from around the world and attend presentations hosted by experts in true crime, the paranormal and other macabre subjects.
Don’t forget about the afterparty! Held at the Harriett Chapman Hospital, guests can tour the historic mansion and learn about its haunted past, with opportunities for self-investigation. The afterparty runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and is suitable for ages 10 and up. Tickets are $50.
