At least one youth was arrested this morning after a shooting outside of Pleasant View school building that did not injure anyone, according to a statement from the Lansing School District.
Lansing Police Department spokesperson Jordan Gulkis said shots were fired in the 4500 block of Pleasant Grove Road around 9 a.m. No one was hit and the accused shooter has been arrested, Gulkis said.
In a statement, the school district said there were no injuries.
“No weapon entered the school,” the district said in a statement. “Once the area was secured, some students were safely dismissed to their families while others continued with the school day, with staff maintaining supervision throughout. One minor who is a school district student was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody later in the day. As a precaution, all district high schools were briefly placed in secure mode until the situation was fully resolved.”
The building is home to the school district’s Lansing Learning Hub and the Capital Area K-12 Online programs.
