Mason will host its own two-day Fourth of July celebration, kicking off with a pre-parade bike decorating contest for kids at 6 p.m. Thursday on the Ingham County Courthouse lawn. Prizes will be awarded to winners, and all participants will have an opportunity to ride in the parade. Decorations will be provided, but participants are also welcome to decorate their bikes in advance. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. and will travel from Rayner Park to the Ingham County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds will offer hot air balloon rides from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, plus cow pie bingo and a fireworks show at dusk.

The following day, the Show Off Car Club will host its annual car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. downtown, accompanied by a DJ and food vendors. Cars of all makes, models and years are welcome.
