Notice of Public Hearing, East Lansing City Council, Sept. 22, 2026, Tree Removal Violation
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
EAST LANSING CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given of the following public hearing to be held by the East Lansing City Council on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 at 6:30 p.m, at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, East Lansing MI 48823.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider an appeal filed under Section 48-96 of the East Lansing City Code regarding a tree removal violation issued for property located at 2982 E. Coleman Road, East Lansing, MI. The violation was issued for the unpermitted removal of trees from the property. The appeal was filed with the City Clerk’s office on August 6, 2026, on behalf of the property, within the ten-day period allowed under Section 48-96(a).
At the hearing, the City Council will hear the appellant’s presentation and provide an opportunity for adjacent property owners and other interested parties to be heard, as required under Section 48-96(c). Following the hearing, the Council will affirm, affirm with conditions, or reverse the decision of the City Engineer, based on written findings, as provided under Section 48-96(e).

The City of East Lansing will provide reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as interpreters for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities upon request received by the City seven (7) calendar days prior to the meeting.
