Songs of the Sky: Music in Tribute of Nell Brandon

The late Nell Brandon was a sound engineer, artist, activist, musician and staple of Lansing’s eastside community. Family, friends and community members are invited to celebrate their life and legacy Saturday evening at The Avenue with performances by some of their favorite artists, including Ladyship Warship, A Rueful Noise and The Plurals. The event will also feature the debut of Moon Flesh, a musical project performing songs written by Brandon. An open mic will run from 8 to 9 p.m. for anyone who wants to share music (one to two songs), words or art in honor of Brandon.
