Broad Art Museum fall opening party
6-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12
547 E. Circle Drive, East Lansing
Michigan State University’s Broad Art Museum will welcome students with its annual fall opening party, offering those who left town for the summer an opportunity to check out new exhibitions they may have missed, including “Mekong Voices: Transnational River Justice in Mainland Southeast Asia,” “Africa Past, Present, and Future: Celebrating 65 Years of the MSU African Studies Center,” “unbecoming” and “Americans and the Holocaust: A Michigan Perspective.” Attendees can also take part in screen-printing and button-making crafts, compete against friends in lawn games, dance to music provided by Impact 89 FM and help illuminate the museum with blacklight art once the sun goes down. The event is free and open to all ages, though pre-registration is encouraged at broadmuseum.msu.edu.
