Thousands out of power in Greater Lansing area after storms
Thursday’s thunderstorms, winds and rain have left thousands without power in the Greater Lansing area, according to outage trackers from Lansing Board of Water and Light and Consumers Energy.
BWL is reporting dozens of outages that are affecting 3,100 customers and Consumers is reporting hundreds of outages with nearly 20,000 customers out of power, as of 3:15 p.m.
There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Ingham County until 3:30 p.m., and the system has included penny-sized hail and 60mph winds with damage around the Greater Lansing region to roofs, siding and trees, according to the National Weather Service.
