The Ourspace Foundation is kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month with a weekend of eclectic events celebrating Hispanic culture in the 517.
The weekend begins with a business seminar and mixer Thursday at Lansing City Hall. Discussions will focus on the connection between personal wellness and business success. Guest speakers include MMA fighter and small business owner Mando Gutierrez, local business owner Justin Hidalgo and MSUFCU Vice President of Community Impact Arianna Ridderbusch.
Loreno Lopez and Yesenia Murillo will hold free merengue and salsa lessons Friday on the Lansing Shuffle Patio, followed by a Latin mixer and dance party.
Saturday brings the headline event, the Hispanic Heritage Festival, offering over 70 vendors and food trucks as well as live music, cultural performances, live lucha libre wrestling and a kids’ zone.
The weekend wraps up Sunday with a Latin jazz night, featuring music by Orquesta Ritmo and DJ E-Nyce.
More information about each event is available on the Ourspace Foundation’s website.
