The Shiawassee Arts Center’s third annual “Upcycle Art in the Park” exhibit, on display along the Shiawassee River, features almost two dozen sculptures made by Michigan artists, including Will Behar and Deborah Knipe of Owosso, Scott and Jennifer Ross of Corunna, Birney Adams of East Lansing and Doug DeLind of Mason.

The exhibition aims to highlight the importance of recycling, with sculptures made primarily from repurposed materials gathered from the river and recycling centers.

Awards totaling $3,500 will be presented to participating artists during the closing reception on Sept. 27. Exhibition visitors have an opportunity to vote for the highly anticipated people’s choice award, which will also be announced Sept. 27.
