 To the qualified electors of the City of Lansing:

Please take notice that the City of Lansing will hold an Election on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

For the purpose of voting on the following proposal:

GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BOND PROPOSAL FOR BUILDING AND SITE PURPOSES IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED $99,960,000

Sample ballots can be found at www.Michigan.gov/vote. To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the City Clerk’s Office in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.

Photo Identification OR Affidavit Required to Vote:

Under a Michigan law upheld by the Michigan Supreme Court, ALL voters will be asked to show photo identification to vote at the polls. Voters without identification will be required to fill out and sign an affidavit to receive a ballot.

Anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the following locations and times:

 ABSENT VOTER BALLOTS

Any registered voter may request an Absent Voter Ballot.  No reason required.

The Lansing City Clerk’s Office must have a signed application from the voter to issue an Absent Voter Ballot. Applications are available at the locations referenced in the above tables or by visiting our website at lansingvotes.gov.

Friday, May 1, 2026, at 5:00 pm is the deadline to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you.

Monday, May 4, 2026, at 4:00 pm is the deadline to request an absentee ballot in person, except for those who register to vote on Election Day.

Those registering to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, are eligible to receive an absent voter ballot at the Lansing City Clerk’s Office, locations referenced in the above table.
