NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
East Lansing Historic District Commission
Notice is hereby given of the following public hearings to be held by the East Lansing Historic District Commission on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the City of East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road, East Lansing, Michigan 48823:
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Elieff Brothers Roofing, located at 626 MAC Avenue. The applicant request is to replace the geometrical T-lock asphalt shingled roof with architectural asphalt shingles and replace a fascia board in kind.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Anna Zacharski, located at 503 Park Lane. The applicant request is for after-the-fact approval for replacement of the three-foot perimeter wood fence and backyard changes including installation of a railroad tie retaining wall with pea gravel in place of grass.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Ron Mills, located at 20 University Drive. The applicant request is to enclose an existing patio on the rear of the house.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Rowland Cornish III, located at 360 Charles Street. The applicant request is to install a generator on a 9ft by 4ft concrete pad as well as a transfer switch on a 2ft 6in by 3ft 6in concrete pad adjacent to the air conditioning unit enclosure on Linden Street.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Ashley Sutton, located at 604 Sunset Lane. The applicant request is to replace aluminum and T1-11 siding with 7.25in Hardie Plank cement fiber board lap siding on the house and garage as well as board and batten accents on the dormer of the house and the section above the garage.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Matthew Higgins, located at 350 Kensington Road. The applicant request is to replace the existing two steel garage doors with a single steel garage door.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Abigail Knauss, located at 548 M.A.C. Avenue. The applicant request is to repair and replace items on the front porch, fascia, moulding, railings, front door and windows.
- A public hearing to receive and discuss consideration of a Certificate of Appropriateness from Matt Davenport, located at 345 University Drive. The applicant request is to replace the 4-row wood door with 4-row, steel door.
Owners of structures containing more than four (4) dwelling units or other distinct spatial areas owned or leased by different persons are requested to post this notice at the primary entrance to the structure.

The City of East Lansing will provide reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as interpreters for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities upon request received by the City seven (7) calendar days prior to the meeting.
