Ingham County Animal Control, Notice of Adoption of Amendment to Ordinance

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF AMENDMENT TO
INGHAM COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopted amendments to the Ingham County Animal Control Ordinance, to repeal the definition of “day” in Article II, Sec. (k), to repeal the provision in Article III, Sec. 3(f) allowing the entry onto private property, to repeal the provision in Article VI, Sec. 1 mandating holding periods for impounded animals, to repeal the provision in Article IX, Sec. 1(d) imposing criminal liability for dog bites, and to amend the provision in Article III, Sec. 3(c) as to the holding and disposition of impounded animals, to amend the provision in Article VI, Sec. 3 as to notice to the owner of an impounded animal, and to amend the provision in Article VI, Sec. 4 as to the holding, redemption and disposition of impounded animals.
A copy of the Ordinance Amendment is available for public inspection in the office of the Ingham County Clerk.
