Ingham County Drain Commissioner, Notice of Intent to Release Drain Easement, Craddock Drain Drainage District
NOTICE OF INTENT TO RELEASE DRAIN EASEMENT
The Ingham County Drain Commissioner (“ICDC”) has determined that a Drain Easement held by the Craddock Drain Drainage District, a public body corporate (“Drainage District”) established pursuant to the Michigan Drain Code of 1956, 1956 P.A. 40, as amended, MCL 280.1 et seq. (“Drain Code”), as amended, is no longer necessary for drainage purposes. The ICDC proposes to release, convey and abandon all of its rights, title and interests in the Return of Special Commissioners as to Necessity for Drain and Compensation to be Made Therefore recorded in Liber 7, Page 245 of the drain records maintained in the office of the Ingham County Drain Commissioner (“Drain Easement”), to the fee owner of the property herein described in accordance with Section 6 of the Drain Code, MCL 280.6.
The Drain Easement to be released, conveyed, and abandoned is located over and across the following lands in Leslie Township, County of Ingham, State of Michigan, described herein:

The Drain Easement to be released, conveyed, and abandoned is described as:
A strip of land forty (40) feet in width along each side of and adjoining the following described centerline located within Section 23 of Township 1 North, Range 1 West, Township of Leslie, County of Ingham, State of Michigan, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the west quarter post of said Section 23; thence S51°45’E, 9.17 chains (605.22 feet); thence S87°45’E, 7.04 chains (464.64 feet); thence S50°00’E, 6.02 chains (397.32 feet); thence S72°45’E, 4.14 chains (273.24 feet); thence S27°15’E, 8.30 chains (547.80 feet); thence S09°45’W, 188.23 feet to a point on the south line of the north half of the southwest quarter of said Section 23, said point being 870.7 feet West of the north–south quarter-line of said Section 23, also said point being the point of ending of drain easement to be released.
Total length of drain over which easement is to be released is 2476.45 feet.
In accordance with Section 6 of Act 40 of the Public Act of 1956, as amended, at the office of the Ingham County Drain Commissioner, 707 Buhl, Mason, Michigan 48854, on September 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Drain Commissioner shall meet upon this proposed release of a Drain Easement and any taxpayer may appear to protest said release.
After said date, the Drain Commissioner may release and convey the above-described Drain Easement to the fee owner on behalf of the Craddock Drain Drainage District.
