Renegade Fringe Festival brings a familiar twist

The long-missed Renegade Theatre Festival returns this weekend under a new name: Renegade Fringe Festival. The inclusive festival embraces bold, cross-disciplinary performances and creative experimentation. 

Performances will take place at multiple venues in Lansing’s REO Town, such as The Robin Theatre, REO Town Clubhouse, ALT Printing and REO Town Marketplace.

There are seven performances slated for Friday evening: serio-comedy “Funk & Wagnalls”; audio theater production “All Hail to Love”; dramatic plays “Raqs Sharqui,” “The Attic Play” and “Outside”; and two community improv showcases, presented by Bare Bones Improv.

Saturday brings a variety of performances throughout the afternoon and evening, including staged readings, open-mic poetry performances and puppet shows.

The full schedule is available online. Admission to most performances is free, though a $10 donation or pre-registration is requested for some.
