Turner-Dodge Fairytale Festival

Noon-6 p.m. Saturday, June 11
Turner-Dodge House
100 E. North St., Lansing
On Saturday, Lansing’s historic Turner-Dodge House will be enchanted by the fifth annual Fairytale Festival, featuring 25 whimsical vendors, live performances, opportunities to meet beloved fairytale characters, food, crafts and kids’ activities.
The festivities will open with a performance by the Pretty Shaky String Band. Afterward, the ballroom (now with air conditioning!) will come alive with performances by the Habibi Dancers, a Middle Eastern dance troupe, and Ballet MariaLuz, a Mexican folkloric dance troupe.
The event will also offer the chance to take part in a facilitated drum circle. The Reading People, a local nonprofit, will bring free books.
The inside of the house will be decorated with displays inspired by fairy tales, both new and classic. Entry into the house is $5.
