A unique event Saturday at Potter Park Zoo will showcase local artists, makers and organizations, with the zoo’s beloved animals as a backdrop.

Attendees can explore community programs, view original artwork and engaging demonstrations, meet local artists and create some crafts of their own.

Featured artists include Madeline Broekhuizen of Mad Creation Studio, Mark Chamberlin of SmarterPics Photography School, Teresa Morgan of Liefste Luna Ceramics, SaraLee Chubb of SheepCreek Felts, Paige Gransden of Yote & Bloom, Jennifer Lamphere and Tea Murduh.

On the conservation side of things, guests will find engaging education stations around the zoo, as well as interactive displays highlighting the connection between art and wildlife. There will also be two enrichment-making classes where visitors can build something fun for the farmyard animals (10-11:30 a.m.) or the spider monkeys (noon-1:30 p.m.).
