NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF A ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
WILLIAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
INGHAM COUNTY, MICHIGAN
Pursuant to Section 401 of Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended (the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act), notice is hereby given that at a regular meeting held on August 12, 2026, the Williamstown Township Board of Trustees adopted amendments to Section 8.02(RR) of the Zoning Ordinance, which deals with the keeping of farm animals on non-farm parcels.
The principal purpose of the amendments is to address the keeping of farm animals on non-farm parcels or lots in the R-1 and R-1-S Districts that are over three acres in size. New regulations have been adopted to replace the second and third paragraphs in subsection 1, Introduction.
A copy of the ordinance amendments may be obtained or inspected at the Williamstown Township Hall, 4990 Zimmer Road, Williamston, MI 48895 during normal business hours. Pursuant to Section 401(6), the amendments shall take effect upon expiration of seven days after publication of this notice.
