Alternative Holiday Sale

If you’re looking for ethically sourced and produced holiday gifts, look no further.

The Peace Education Center will host its annual Alternative Holiday Sale this weekend, giving the Greater Lansing community “the opportunity to meet and shop with others in the peace and justice community while supporting small personal businesses, nonprofit groups and fair-trade cooperatives,” according to the event website.

Alongside the market will be homemade organic snacks and meals available for purchase to fuel hungry shoppers. Friday night, PEC is partnering with Ten Pound Fiddle once again to put on a live concert. Windborne, a vocal folk group, will be the featured performer. The group is known for its innovative arrangements and mastery of polyphonic music, as well as its lyrical focus on social activism, labor and civil rights, and other important issues.

Tickets for the concert are $20 ($5 for students) and can be purchased on tenpoundfiddle.org. Doors open at 6:30, and the show is at 7:30.
