Grand Ledge twins take top spot on VH1's

THURSDAY, Oct. 1 — A pair of Greater Lansing twins took home a $222,222.22 prize yesterday, taking the top spot in one of VH1’s newest reality TV shows.

Grand Ledge natives Shawn and Claire Buitendorp won VH1’s “Twinning, a reality TV competition show. In the show, sets of twins compete in teams in a variety of mental and physical challenges.

The pre-taped finale aired last night, and the twins hosted a watch party for fans and friends at East Lansing’s HopCat. The duo mingled with guests at a pre-show happy hour, and then escaped to a private room to live-Tweet the show. They returned to the bar later to celebrate their victory.

The Buitendorp twins studied fashion and business at Lansing Community College and University of Michigan-Flint before moving to New York to work with fashion icon Betsey Johnson. They have launched their own signature fashion line, Shock and Awww.
