What's up in Lansing: Bump in the Night

Here's what's going on in town today

Posted

Good day on this rainy Friday.

Things that go bump in the night aren’t always scary; some of them just want to make you dance. All of the Above, a Lansing-based hip-hop collective, hosts its annual “Bump in the Night” beat battle Friday at the Robin Theatre. Sixteen Michigan producers bring their best beats and instrumental tracks, duking it out tournament style for the top spot. The night features special guests Illy al, Kyle Lake, Mikeyy Austin and former beat battle winner Hir-O. The event’s panel of judges features the Sound Addict, Raj Mahal, Ess Be and Young Heat. Showcasing a wide array of artists, the battle promises a “window into the capital city’s diverse hip-hop scene.” 7-11 p.m. $10. Robin Theatre, 1105 S. Washington Ave., Lansing. alloftheabovehiphop.org.
