Zoning Amendment #2026-05 (Backyard Chicken and Rabbits Update)
The Township Board at its regular meeting on July 7, 2026 reconsidered the previously approved ordinance and approved for introduction and subsequent adoption Ordinance 2026-05, an Ordinance to update the standards for the keeping of backyard chickens and rabbits, updating the previously approved ordinance to include the RN, Village of Nemoka Mixed Residential District to the districts permitted to have backyard chickens or rabbits.
A complete copy of the amendment may be viewed at the Community Planning and Development office, 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, Michigan 48864-1198 (phone 517-853-4560), between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
