Dear Mr. Betz:

Thank you for this. It is very important to remind us, the citizens of Lansing that we should study the city budgets carefully, ask questions from the Mayor and Council, ensure that the appropriations are designed to address community needs - from the poorer areas upwards. This business of property tax to fund services needs careful review. It ensures that poorer areas will have poor services, broken sidewalks, and when trees fall down, no new ones.

This is also a time for the Mayor and council of Lansing to go around the neighborhoods, see for themselves and speak to citizens.

Community well-being might be seen from a ground view.

In my neighborhood, the police zoom by, cars speed as if they were in Daytona and late for a race. We have tried to get the city to help us with slowing down the speed of traffic on this side road. An Electronic speed sign was set up where traffic slows down .. nothing came of it, yet.

Sincerely
