Alternative Holiday Sale

Posted

The Peace Education Center’s annual Alternative Holiday Sale runs 5 to 9 p.m. Friday (Nov. 17) and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 18) at Edgewood United Church in East Lansing.

With a variety of local vendors selling everything from art to home goods and beyond, the sale provides holiday shoppers with an opportunity to support the economic growth of the Lansing area through its artists and creators. In addition, meals and snacks will be available for purchase at the event.

Some profits from the sale will go toward assisting the Peace Education Center with its yearly programming and peace and justice initiatives.

A Ten Pound Fiddle concert featuring award-winning singer-songwriter Joe Jencks is also set to take place 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Chicago-based artist merges “conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing, delivering engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove and grit,” Ten Pound Fiddle wrote on its website. To purchase tickets, which are $20 for the public, $18 for Fiddle members and $5 for students, visit tenpoundfiddle.org/event/joe-jencks.

More information about the sale is available at peaceedcenter.org/event/alternative-holiday-sale.
