From art exhibits and crafting workshops to live music, theater productions, a fair, an auto show and a new festival hosted by Lansing 5:01 and City Pulse, there’s no shortage of events to enjoy in Greater Lansing this weekend.

For Friday evening’s live music, we have Brian Byrnes at Harrison Roadhouse and a trio of Mike Eyia, Mike Smalley and Mike Daniels at Red Cedar Spirits, both at 6; Stone Street Revival at Lake Lansing Park South at 7; Main Street Dueling Pianos at Lansing Brewing Co. at 7:30; Time2Play at Urbanbeat, The Dangling Participles at The Peanut Barrel and Justin Holcomb at Lansing Shuffle, all at 8; Medusa at The Green Door at 8:30; and No Skull, Bloody Butterflies, A Rueful Noise and BloodySkullNoise at The Avenue at 9. Saturday evening, we have Michigan State University’s Celebrating the Spectrum closing piano concert at the Music Building’s Cook Recital Hall at 4, Piper Avenue at BrickHaven Brewing Co. in Grand Ledge at 6:30, Potts Road at Williamston Roadhouse at 7, Mark Weaks at Lansing Shuffle at 8 and Geech at The Green Door at 8:30. Ending the weekend on Sunday is Tony Thompson at Lansing Shuffle and a benefit show for John McIntyre of They’re Dead and Suburban Ants at Mac’s Bar, featuring performances by The Plurals, Small Parks, Christopher Baratono, Noizeghost and A Rueful Noise, both at noon; the Lansing Concert Band Big Band at University Lutheran Church in East Lansing and Randy Napoleon’s weekly jazz show at Red Cedar Spirits, both at 6 p.m.; and Karaoke Kickback’s Summer Jam at The Junction, featuring performances by YNS Lavish, Lucas Holliday, PB Yanna, Jurell & MikeyyAustin and more, at 8 p.m.

Art exhibits on view this weekend include “Shouldn’t You Be Working? 100 Years of Working from Home” at MSU’s Broad Art Museum, which is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday; “Let the Paintings Talk” at the Okemos Library, which is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday; Brian Snyder’s “The Journey Continues: American Aboriginal Art” at the Lansing Art Gallery, which is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and local artist Jane Cloutier’s mixed-media art display at the Haslett Library’s Bookend Gallery, which is open noon to 4 p.m. Friday and noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

If you’d like to make some art of your own, Charlotte Community Library is offering a friendship bracelet-making workshop Friday for kids in fourth through 12th grade 4 p.m. Friday, and the Lansing Art Gallery is offering a Zentangle workshop for ages 18 and up 10 a.m. Saturday. Additionally, if you’re looking for materials for your own projects, Village Crafters is holding a craft supply sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Mason VFW.

For theater buffs, “Be Here Now” continues at the Williamston Theatre 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. To learn more about the play, read theater critic Mark Gmazel’s review. In addition, All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre is performing “Frozen Jr.,” an adaptation of the 2013 Disney film, 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at East Lansing’s Hannah Community Center.

Visit Potter Park Zoo 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for its International Tiger Day Celebration, where guests can learn about tiger conservation efforts through activities and information stations set up around the zoo. Regular admission rates apply.

R.E. Olds Transportation Museum is holding its annual Car Capital Auto Show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, featuring a DJ, food trucks, door prizes and plenty of classic and modern automobiles on display. Contest entrants receive free admission into the museum for two, and attendees receive 50% off admission.

BAD Brewing Co. in Mason is celebrating its 11th anniversary 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday with the release of two new beers, Megtaton Mile Triple NEIPA and Buffalo Trace BA Imperial Stout, plus live music by the Dead Lennies from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and Pinter Whitnick from 4 to 8 p.m.

 Lansing 5:01 and City Pulse are teaming up to host The Best of Lansing Festival 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Field, featuring booths from a variety of local businesses and vendors, alcoholic beverages and food from six different food trucks available for purchase, inflatables and obstacle courses, live performances by the ‘80s cover band Starfarm and a fireworks display to cap the evening. Additionally, attendees can purchase 10 food tickets for $25 in advance or $35 at the door and sample dishes from a host of local restaurants. Admission into the festival is free.

The Fowlerville Family Fair is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with carnival rides and games from 1 to 11 p.m., plus a host of vendors, food stands, livestock displays, animal auctions and more. There’s also a rodeo 7 p.m. Friday and a concert with country musicians Granger Smith and Chase McDaniel 7 p.m. Saturday. To purchase tickets and view the full schedule of events, visit the website.

 Finally, Lighthouse Chapel, an interfaith metaphysical church on the north side of Lansing, is hosting an event Sunday with a drum circle at 11 a.m., a potluck at noon and a psychic fair featuring metaphysical readings, holistic healings, chair massages and vendors from 1 to 3 p.m.
