THURSDAY, Aug. 8 — Bacon. An American obsession that, by this point, has found itself infused into nearly everything. Bacon soap, bacon candy and bacon soda pop — it’s all been done before with varying degrees of deliciousness.
If you want to celebrate that meaty passion and spend a few bucks for charity, then Zoobie’s Old Town Tavern is the place to be this Saturday.
Bacon Bash 2019 features a smattering of bacon-injected food and cocktails, along with a special selection of beers supplied by Lagunitas Brewing Co. Patrons should expect to munch on bacon burgers, pork belly sliders, fried bacon-shrimp, bacon skewers and many more bacon-fill-in-the-blanks.
The cocktail of the night features rye whiskey with sweet vermouth, bitters, maple syrup, and is served in a glass rimmed with bacon and sugar.
Soul Priority, followed by Avon Bomb, will perform live music. This year’s Bacon Bash will donate a portion of its proceeds to Haven House, an East Lansing emergency housing and support services center for small families.
