THURSDAY, April 27 — Common Ground Music Festival announced this morning that Shinedown will fill its remaining headliner slot, taking the stage July 8. Post-grunge rockers LiVE will also perform that evening.
LiVE had a string of hit singles in the mid-’90s, including “Lightning Crashes,” which stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for 10 consecutive weeks and the Modern Rock Tracks (now Alternative Songs) chart for nine weeks from February 25 to April 22, 1995. The band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. The band’s Common Ground appearance will feature original lead singer Ed Kowalczyk, who left the group in 2009. The band released one album, 2014’s “The Turn,” with Chris Shinn on vocals. Kowalczyk reunited with the band in late 2016.
July 8 will also feature Here Come The Mummies, the Legal Immigrants and more artists to be announced later. The festival also announced the remaining lineup for July 9, which features Twista, SahBabii, Waldo, Tugga the Rapper, Rosco P and Diamond Jones.
Formerly a six-day festival, this year’s festival has been shortened to four days, July 6 through 9. Single Day Tickets for July 8 go on sale to the public 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets can be purchased online at commongroundfest.com.
