Lansing invites public to name snowplows

SATURDAY, MARCH 20 — Even though the worst parts of winter are behind us, Lansing is launching a contest that asks the public to name the city’s team of snowplows. The first round, the nomination period, launched earlier this month and more than 100 names were chosen for voting consideration. You can pick 5 of your favorite names and have until March 22 to submit your ballot. The names will be used in junction with Lansing’s new snowplow tracking app. We’ve picked out some of the best and most clever names and highlighted some of the generic dull options that belong at bottom of a Frandor slush mountain.
