TUESDAY, Sept. 1 — Say goodbye to Cooley Law School Stadium and hello to Jackson Field.

Today marks the official announcement of a seven-year stadium naming rights agreement between the Lansing Lugnuts and Jackson National Life Insurance Co.

Jackson National Life Insurance Co. has been a field-level sponsor of the Lugnuts since 2010. The expansive sponsorship covers the entire stadium and playing field.

“This is an immensely important day for us,” said Lansing Lugnuts owner Tom Dickson in a press release. “We’ve had a strong relationship with Jackson for the last 10 years and we’re excited to take this next step forward, signing a long-term investment that will benefit the City of Lansing and Mid-Michigan in the next decade.”

Since 2010, the insurance company has donated $100 to a local nonprofit each time a Lugnuts player successfully hit a home run. According to the Lugnuts website, Jackson National Life Insurance Co. has since raised nearly $40,000 for Lansing-area organizations.

“The Mid-Michigan community has been Jackson’s home since we were founded almost 60 years ago,” said Michael Falcon, CEO of Jackson National Life Insurance Co., in the press release. “When the opportunity arose to increase our support for Lansing’s downtown stadium, Jackson saw the investment as a way to partner with the city and the Lugnuts to ensure our community has affordable, family-friendly entertainment and a place to gather for many years to come.”
