TUESDAY, Dec. 15 — Lansing 5:01, a networking group that encourages young professionals to live in the Lansing area and invest in its communities, has acquired fellow Greater Lansing networking organization, Grand River Connection.

Grand River Connection was established in 2005 to help give local graduating college students a more visible pipeline from college life into building a career and settling down with a family. It hosts a networking event on the fourth Tuesday of each month, a quarterly professional speaker series and helps lead the annual Ten Over the Next 10 awards event.

“Lansing 5:01's acquisition of Grand River Connection will marry each organizations' strengths to foster the region's talent retention and attraction efforts into the next decade and beyond,” announced Lansing 5:01 in a digital press release.

Lansing 5:01 was formed in 2015 and partners annually with 30 of the Greater Lansing area’s top-rated employers and hosts a series of large-scale events throughout the summer for budding college interns and young people in the beginning stages of their careers. Lansing 5:01 announced that its acquisition of Grand River Connection will be a “strategic opportunity to provide talent attraction and retention programming to the full spectrum of emerging professionals, including college interns, young professionals, and ‘boomerangs’ looking to relocate to the area.”
