‘Shucked’ tour to stop at Wharton Center

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 11 — The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Shucked” is hitting the road for a North American tour and will be stopping for a run of performances at the Wharton Center during its 2024-’25 season.

The show has been lauded as “flat-out hilarious” by The Wall Street Journal, “one of the savviest new shows on Broadway” by The Washington Post and “the surprise delight of the season” by Variety.

Featuring a book by Tony Award-winning comedy writer Robert Horn, a score by Grammy Award winners and Tony Award nominees Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally and direction by three-time Tony Award winner and Saginaw native Jack O’Brien, the show is described as, “A hilarious and audacious farm-to-fable musical about the one thing Americans everywhere can’t get enough of: corn. ‘Shucked’ is the new musical comedy that proves sometimes tearing down a few walls, rather than growing them, is the only way to preserve our way of life.”

“’Shucked’ is a musical full of laughs, great tunes and a whole lot of corn,” said co-producer Mike Bosner. “It was written from the heart and for the heartland. We could not be more excited to bring what audiences have been enjoying on Broadway to all our favorite cities across the country.”

The tour will begin in Rhode Island in fall 2024 and will travel to more than 30 cities in its first season.
