Silver Bells in the City

A beloved tradition dating back to 1984, this year’s annual Silver Bells in the City will include a shopping village, the 25th annual Electric Light Parade, the lighting of the official state Christmas tree, a Firefly drone light show, a performance from recent “American Idol” contestant Jacob Moran and the highly anticipated return of the fireworks display over the Capitol.

Additional attractions across the downtown Lansing area will include performances by saxophonist Steven Thomas at the CATA Transportation Center and the Glen Erin Pipe Band at City Hall; a holiday art exhibition, caricature artist and “take and make” art activity at the Lansing Art Gallery; photo opportunities with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their reindeer at Lansing Center’s Riverfront Plaza and the Kringle Holiday Market at Reutter Park.

The following morning, there will be a 5K race in downtown Lansing with an accompanying costume contest.
