Eyesore of the Week 5/15

Posted

2315 N. High St., Lansing

Built in 1918, this 1,032-square-foot, four-bedroom home in north Lansing was initially red-tagged for safety issues in July 2018. The city boarded it up three times between then and January 2019, when its former owners, Brian and Ethel Morton, sold it back to First National Realty Acceptance Co., the East Lansing-based firm that sold it to them in 2008. Within two months, First National Realty turned around and sold it to Northtown Equity LLC, a Grand Rapids-based firm, for $29,900. Northtown Equity held on to it until October last year, when the Incredibles Factory LLC purchased it for $255,000. The Lansing Assessor’s Office values the home at just $34,400. Over the course of eight months, the new Detroit-based owner has accumulated $1,410 in red tag monitoring penalties, for which the city issues a monthly $150 charge plus fees. Efforts to contact The Incredibles Factory LLC were unsuccessful.
