Studio (in)Process Holiday Workshop
6 to 9 p.m.
MSU Broad Art Lab
565 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing
THURSDAY, DEC. 13 — Craft handmade wrapping paper, cards and more for gift-giving with a more personal touch at the MSU Broad Art Lab’s holiday workshop.
Admission grants attendees materials and advice from staff. Wrapping paper will be made using a block printing technique. Drop in at any time or stay for all three hours to perfect the art of DIY holiday gifting.
“It makes it a little more special, showing you put more thought and care into something,” said Madeline Rosemurgy, interim director of public relations at the MSU Eli and Edythe Broad Museum. “I would not tear open a gift with handmade wrapping paper, but undo it very carefully and save it.”
Held every Thursday, Studio(in)Process focuses on a different theme for the public to practice art with each week. However, the holiday workshop will be the last event of 2018 and events will resume weekly next year starting on January 10.
Children 10-years-old and older are welcome with adult supervision.
All attendees get to take home what they make, Rosemurgy said. “It is a great event to invite a friend or family member to and spend time together, especially around this season.”
