City Pulse Zoom interview with incoming LCC president Steve Robinson

City Pulse editor and publisher Berl Schwartz interviews incoming Lansing Community College President Steve Robinson.

Robinson, 52moved to East Lansing at 18 to attend Michigan State University, where he earned three degrees. He lived here for a dozen years – even commuting to Flint for a few years for his first full-time teaching job, at Mott Community College. 

The internship at LCC opened Robinson’s eyes to a classroom setting far more diverse than his suburban Detroit high school and MSU. Some students were younger than he was, while others were older than his parentsThere were students from every socioeconomic walk of life, diversity in terms of race. I just fell in love with the exciting energy in the classroom.”
